The Lavender Movement’s Seasonal Publication
The Lavender Movement’s publication was the inspired by a project that I completed the year before, called Lavender. I believe there is a reverence to the printed word in a sea of screens. There is also value put into pieces that are printed and published, I wanted to provide members who provided their own stories and writings an opportunity to be published.
The Lavender Movement’s publication goes out seasonally, so every 3 months. To receive it, a user can subscribe for the year, or can purchase individual issues from the store on the website.
The final magazine was perfect bound by hand.
Spreads are laid out on a 5 column grid system with an 11 point baseline. Page numbers are in the lower outer corner of each page, where copy allows and markers sit near the margin to indicate the type of article, also indicated in the table of contents.
