The Lavender Movement’s Website
The Lavender Movement’s website is extensive. After a user has signed in they can access the entirety of the catalog. Log in is required every time the site is accessed for user privacy. Not everyone is in safe space where they can access queer content at all times. We want to avoid outing users at all costs.
The catalog contains fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and member work. All of the non-fiction work in the catalog is peer-reviewed, which makes it great for research! The Lavender Movement offers its services to universities across the country and students get free access to the catalog! What is member work?
Anyone who has a subscription can submit their own stories to the catalog. Their stories to have to be approved by our editors, and if a user wishes, they can submit their work to be published in The Lavender Movement’s seasonal booklet. That being said, member’s security is incredibly important to us. It’s sad to say, but it is still not safe to be out everywhere in the US. Because of that, The Lavender Movement will never share a member’s location or name on the site. Only if the a member story is approved by editors for the publication and permission is given by a user does their name appear with their writing.
