Traditional Book: Pride and Prejudice
The book is only one folio that contains the first six chapters of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The folio contains twenty pages and took roughly two weeks to complete. Most of my time was spent honing the text within the book.
The pages are printed on a Natural Linen card stock, which gave the pages weight and texture.
The cover design was completed rather quickly, but the execution ended up being much more difficult than expected. The original plan was to use gold leaf on a heavy black card stock. After a number of attempts, using a number of gold leaf application techniques, I decided to switch to printing onto gold card stock that I found at a local craft shop. I would have loved to use the gold leave, but the small details of the type were making the clean removal of the excess gold leaf difficult
